Green events

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

As part of our “Gorgeous Goes Green” campaign we came across a short article about “How to hold a green event” in the Motivate title Middle East MICE & Events – Spring issue. Green events are still thought of as something of a rarity and strange tree-hugger phenomenon, however the Gorgeous team feels quite passionate about it.

Below are five aspects of ‘how to hold a green event’ and we have taken the liberty of adding some additional thoughts to it. Try to find an angle to align your event, company or brand with these aspects and make it part of your marketing strategy and you will soon find that it is rewarding, not only for yourself, your company and your brand, but obviously the environment as well.

Ford Ride & Drive and Launch Event UAE

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Ford commissioned Gorgeous Creative Communications to plan and execute their latest Ride & Drive event through the Northern Emirates. Representatives from the Media and the Dealerships had the opportunity to test drive the all-new Ford Flex, Ford Fusion and Ford Focus through a variety of terrains and challenges.

The four day event also saw the launch of the new Ford F-150 and Ford Fiesta.

We could tell you what happened, but why don’t you just watch:

What a performance - A Top 40 finish!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

We did it - Team “Gorgeous, Coast & Friends” completed the “Nivea For Men 24hr Endurance Challenge” at the Dubai Autodrome!

After what seemed more like 24 days than 24 hours the team completed more than 1000 laps totaling more than 1200km, 25 driver changes, 24 refueling stops, one technical stop and even got a formal warning from the race marshals (naughty boys!). In the end it was a hard fought battle for position and while there was much fun had, we all got our competitive faces on to try and do as well as possible.

The 24 hours of Dubai

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Whoever said you can’t work and have fun!?

Gorgeous has just teamed up with some of the guys from The Coast 103.2 radio station and entered a team into the “Nivea For Men Endurance Challenge” – a 24-hour LeMans style Kart race at the Dubai Autodrome.

“Team Gorgeous, Coast & Friends” is certainly NOT the most skilled in the line-up, but we have no doubt that it will be most fun! Rick & Daniel from The Coast’s Breakfast show will join our own motley crew to form what can only be a must-see, once in a lifetime performance!

Gorgeous host first ISES Middle East meeting

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

ISES International Special Events Society

A glass of wine is always a good start, but that wasn’t all (we hope) that brought 35 Event Industry Professionals to the first ISES Middle East meeting hosted by Gorgeous Creative Communications.

ISES (International Special Events Society) is an organization that aims to bring together and foster relationships between event professionals. All members (companies and individuals) benefit from this form of cooperation, but clients especially should see ISES as an approved mark of quality.

The meeting itself was the first of its kind and aimed to introduce and inform. The information about ISES was well received throughout and guests’ questions and contributions showed a keen interest in moving forward.

Can’t see the wood for the trees

Monday, April 21st, 2008

It all sounded so grand during the pitch: “Yes! And we will transform your event into a bespoke jungle - with trees, plants, foliage… you won’t recognize the venue!”

It DID transform the venue, and nobody recognized it – but that’s beside the point! Our Producer Angela also didn’t recognize her garage (and back-garden.. and living-room.. and porch..) when the 400 trees and plants were delivered to her house. We’re sure it looked less when you bought them Angela, but the number “400” should have given it away… surely! I mean, it took 300 Spartans to fight back a million (!) enemies in the movie “300” – anyway, we digress.
